Chateau de Robernier Wedding Photography
When you have a baby, everything changes, you are quite literally not the same person as before. So when I realised I was pregnant and had committed to shooting a wedding 2.5months after the due date in France, with some of my favourite wedding planners, I panicked.
How would I breastfeed? Where would I breastfeed? Should I bring the baby, COULD I bring the baby?? Should I leave her to go abroad less than 3 months after she was born? Would I even be able to?
Its no understatement to say I panicked about this for months. I really didn’t want to let the couple or the planners down but with child birth SO much is out of your control… also I REALLY wanted to shoot this wedding!
It’s not every day you hit the jackpot & land a gorgeous wedding with the most perfect couple & wedding planners but this was such a wedding!
So…with some ( a lot of ) anguish in tow I put on my big girl mum boss pants and we shipped our new little family to Provence, France to photograph this beautiful day and I’m really glad we did.
As with so many things in life & work, when you push past your comfort zone & foray out into un-charted territory, this is often where the biggest rewards can be found.
The planners, the couple and I had set the goal to get this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty and much to our delight the prestigious international wedding blog, loved this wedding just as much as us and you can see featured on their front page HERE
So here’s to setting goals and reaching them, here’s to all the other new mums out there dealing with untold challenges and still showing up every day to do their jobs. It’s not easy, it’s not always a smooth ride but man does it feel good when you succeed!
